Advanced Tutorial - Applying a Taxonomy Update

An advanced tutorial for users of WR4 who have a good basic knowledge

This tutorial shows the basics to applying a taxonomy update and validating Sightings Records in WR4

Information:

We have been asked several times what is the best stratagy for recording when taking into consideration Taxonomy.

As you will see when you download a new taxonomy in WR4, you get a report of the changes in that taxonomy.

You will also see that when you have applied that taxonomy update you get a "Species Update Report" of what has changed in your specific database.

1) If you have recorderd at a species level, WR4 will warn you of any changes and you will have to correct them as in this tutorial.
2) If you records at Group level, WR4 will split and lump them for you automatically.
3) If you records at sub-species level, WR4 will split and lump them for you automatically.

In a few rare cases of 2) and 3) these may differ but those will appear in the validation.

IMPORTANT: YOU MUST VALIDATE AFTER ANY TAXONOMY UPDATE.
